Toronto Sun: Lilley: 'Shootings are up across the country for a variety of reasons including changes in policing, the rise of the opioid crisis and the fast money to be made there, lately handguns have been showing up in the increasing number of car jackings. The people using guns in these situations are using smuggled hand guns from the United States, not legally purchased ones.
'This will not change.
'We need real solutions like reforming the bail system and enforcing harsher sentences to keep those committing gun crimes off of our streets. We need to properly fund police and border agents to stop the flow of guns across the border, not spend more than $1 billion to buy guns from licenced owners.
'Canadians deserve a prime minister who will champion causes like this, not spread misinformation that he’s tackling crime.'
