Communist China's disinformation campaign against Canada's election is undeniable
National Post: The operation bears a striking resemblance to “disinformation attack modes” identified by Taiwan’s leading disinformation-analysis, lab, Doublethink, during the January 2020 Taiwanese elections. The primary disinformation conduits Beijing employed in its efforts to monkeywrench the Taiwanese vote were private chat platforms and the Beijing-controlled social-media giant, WeChat. The primary target of the operation in Canada was the Conservative party, notably the popular Metro Vancouver MP Kenny Chiu, who ended up losing the riding of Steveston—Richmond East to the Liberal candidate by 3,000 votes.
