Vancouver Sun: Trudeau fails to explain why Emergencies Act was needed. It wasn't.

Vancouver Sun: 'Troops were suggested, intelligence indicated foreign funding, weapons and ammunition were seized, if you knew what we knew — wink, wink, nudge, nudge — that’s why Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act, a legislative club....


'...The House Commons, nevertheless, voted late Monday to support Trudeau’s unprecedented proclamation of the 30-year-old legislation that replaced the War Measures Act, used by his father, the late prime minister Pierre Trudeau, under similarly controversial circumstances in October 1970 facing extremist Quebec separatist violence....


'Toronto Liberal MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith agreed he considered voting against confirmation now that border blockades and similar urban disruptions elsewhere have ended, but he had no interest in sparking an election.


'As a minority, the Liberals needed 12 additional votes to confirm use of the act as the Bloc Quebecois joined the Conservatives denouncing the first use of the law.


'NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, who represents Burnaby South, delivered that support.


'The Conservatives jibed he was no longer looking after the working class.'


Take note: the NDP hasn't looked after the Canadian working class in decades. They're interested in power and affluence alone. As for Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, he's a total coward.
