Trudeau regime ignoring that carbon pricing hurts most vulnerable

Toronto Sun: Goldstein: 'While inflation is at its highest rate in more than three decades, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is ignoring warnings from his own government’s environmental and financial watchdogs that his carbon pricing/taxation regime is hurting most Canadians in their pocketbooks, especially the most vulnerable.

'The latest findings come from federal environment commissioner Jerry DeMarco, who reported Tuesday that Indigenous people, those in the small business sector and workers in the fossil fuel industry are being disproportionately impacted by carbon pricing and the impacts of federal climate policy.

'Despite government claims of having a “just transition” plan to help those hardest hit by Trudeau’s pledge to achieve “net zero” greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, DeMarco found, “the government has been unprepared and slow off the mark … to provide appropriate support to more than 50 communities and 170,000 workers in the fossil fuels sector.'
