Trudeau buys a majority at Canada's expense

Toronto Sun: 'Canadians who collectively voted for a Liberal minority government last year now have an NDP-backed Liberal majority government until 2025.

'That’s because of a backroom deal called a “confidence and supply agreement” between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh — that both the Liberals and NDP denied was being negotiated, while they were negotiating it.

'The agreement is constitutional — B.C. and Ontario governments have done it in the past — and it is not technically a coalition government, since the NDP will not have seats in the Liberal cabinet.

'But it is a financial disaster for taxpayers.

'It means the spendthrift Liberals will be able to pass four budgets between now and June, 2025 with the support of the even more fiscally reckless NDP, which has guaranteed not to move or vote on any confidence motion leading to the fall of the Trudeau government.'
