Toronto gun violence skyrockets; no politician will say why

Toronto Sun: 'As of Sunday, Jan. 23, the number of people killed by gunfire is up 300%, the number killed or injured is up 111.1%, the number injured but not killed is up 57.1% and the number of shootings is up 13.6%.

'And yet no politician at city council or at Queen’s Park — where Premier Doug Ford and the Progressive Conservatives are now in charge — will make the obvious link between the end of street checks and the rise of gun violence. Why? Because they’re terrified of being accused of racism by anti-police activists who hate the police. It’s pathetic.'
