Financial Post: The Bank of Canada has never said no to the idea of a digital currency, either. All it has ever said was that it has not made a decision, that it has no current plans, that it depends on the circumstances, and so on. At the same time, bit by bit, it and many other central banks around the world have inched deeper and deeper into this space. All the signs are there that the state-backed digitalization of money will happen one day.
