Students with foreign allegiances hold rally on campus, urge woke UBC to take action against Russia

Ubyssey: '“The goal of the protest is for UBC [to] stop being silent and actually [speak] up about the atrocities that Russia commits not against just Ukraine, but against the whole world,” said one of the organizers Liliya Syvytska, a fourth-year student majoring in film production. Syvytska is from Kiev, Ukraine. President Santa Ono called the conflict an “illegal and unjust war” in a broadcast on February 24 and called for de-escalation. UBC also recently affirmed that it would defer tuition payments for students from Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.'

Maybe, if the protesters are lucky, the University of British Columbia will for the first time make a group of white people honorary "victims" and add Ukrainians to the grievance totem pole, granted it can't do a gosh-darn thing about the war.
