Toronto Sun: 'The teenager who stabbed 14-year-old Devan Selvey to death in 2019 has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
'With time served, the 16-year-old will be released from jail in two years.
'The convicted killer, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will then spend three years under supervision.
'Seven years is the maximum sentence the youth can receive in this second-degree murder case.
'Nonetheless, family and friends of Devan Selvey gasped in dismay as Judge Andrew Goodman read out the sentence in court on Friday.
'A family friend called the sentence “a slap in the face.”'
