Toronto Sun: Furey: 'Prime Minister Justin Trudeau couldn’t limit himself to denouncing the bad apples in the crowd. He instead worked to vilify everyone involved. But Canadians saw with their own eyes the diversity of the crowd that had gathered in front of Parliament Hill. Right when the PM was attacking them as racist homophobes, there they were peacefully dancing in front of the cameras — people of all races and religions.
'Yet now many of those people are nervous and fearful — wondering if their bank accounts are going to be frozen or if they’re going to be charged for simply making a donation or showing up to protest for an afternoon.
'It remains to be seen just how wide this dragnet goes. But the thing to understand about the Emergencies Act is that it goes as wide as Trudeau wants it to go. There aren’t any court orders required before freezing people’s bank accounts. Reviews will happen after excesses have occurred.'
