Jamil Jivani: Conservative populism can break elitism and fix institutions

National Post: 'Canadians are desperate for leaders who can develop a strategic plan for how to improve our home, while also preserving the integrity of what has been built. The conservative movement is in a unique position to balance these objectives, given the political left’s brazen hostility to our country, its history, and its builders.

'Conservatives can recognize the public’s frustrations with government overreach and the affordability crisis by rejecting a political framework that dismisses credible grievances, and introducing a political framework rooted in both appreciation for our country and accountability for our institutions. The movement’s goal should be a balanced mix of policies rooted in patriotism and policies rooted in significant institutional reforms. With that approach, we can help Canada break free from the elitist cycle of marginalizing calls for meaningful change.'
