City of Montreal doesn't want police wearing symbols denoting solidarity with their fallen officers

Toronto Sun: '“We certainly have a discomfort with this symbol, which divides the population,” said Marikym Gaudreault, a spokesperson for the city’s executive committee. “Currently, the SPVM (City of Montreal police service) is conducting a complete review of the standards applicable to police uniforms. An ethics committee is looking specifically at this issue. It is important that the entire population can have confidence in its police service.”

'The symbol, similar to one featuring the American flag, has long been worn by some U.S. law enforcement officers to show solidarity among police officers or support for fallen comrades.'
