There is nothing inherently untoward about the deal with the NDP. Nor is it a “power grab,” as the Liberals had already won power. But, voters have stubbornly refused for two elections in a row to grant Trudeau that which all Canadian prime ministers expect — the freedom to govern the country without need to even take a call from cabinet ministers, never mind some plebeian opposition leader.'
