Canada 'very supportive' of continued NATO imperialism, of Sweden & Finland joining alliance

National Post: So says Trudeau, another muppet desperate for a hot war with Russia. We promised not to expand east of Berlin, and we've done just that. For what purpose? For what good? One benefit of sharing only one border and being across the ocean is that we don't have to waste lives and treasure every time the Europeans decide to kick up another incestuous war. Trudeau thinks this makes Canada, a middle power, look strong, when in reality, all it does is expose and weaken us.

'Each of the countries has expressed an interest in becoming part of the defensive military alliance since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February.

'Finland’s parliament could make a decision in late May, with Sweden following in the weeks after, ahead of NATO’s June 29-30 summit in Madrid, Spain.

'Russia has warned them against joining, with officials saying it would not contribute to stability in Europe, and that Russia would respond with retaliatory measures that would cause “military and political consequences” for Helsinki and Stockholm.'
